Full Time, Permanent
Competitive Salary (based on experience)
Here at Serco, we're looking for a proactive and commercially astute Commercial Contracts Manager to support our Secure Logistics portfolio within Justice & Immigration.
This is a highly visible role where you'll act as a trusted commercial partner to operational leaders, helping to protect and improve contract performance whilst identifying opportunities for growth across the wider business unit. You'll work across both in-life contract delivery and future business opportunities, ensuring robust commercial governance, managing risk, supporting customer relationships, and helping shape the next generation of business growth within Secure Justice & Immigration.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, challenging constructively, spotting opportunities others may miss, and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial value. This isn't a role for someone who simply maintains contracts. We're looking for someone who will actively influence performance, drive improvements and help the business grow.
As part of this you’ll:
- Act as the commercial lead across the Secure Logistics portfolio, supporting operational and contract leadership teams.
- Provide commercially sound advice on contractual obligations, risks, opportunities and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance, protect revenue and drive sustainable growth.
- Lead commercial negotiations, customer engagement and resolution of contractual issues.
- Develop and maintain effective commercial governance, reporting and assurance processes.
- Support bids, extensions, renewals and strategic growth opportunities across Secure Justice & Immigration.
- Shape commercial strategies and support the development of winning propositions.
- Work closely with operational, finance, legal, procurement, bid and business development teams to support successful business outcomes.
- Manage commercial risks whilst identifying opportunities to improve value and performance.
- Develop clear commercial insight and recommendations for senior leadership decision making.
- Promote commercial awareness and best practice across operational teams.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Significant experience in a commercial, contracts, business partnering or contract management role.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and value-creation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex contracts within regulated, public sector or operationally focused environments.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
- Experience supporting commercial growth, bids, contract extensions or business development activity.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret complex commercial information and turn it into clear business recommendations.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge and drive positive change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
Why Serco:
Meaningful and vital work: In this position, you'll play a key role in supporting one of the most important areas of our Secure Justice & Immigration business. You'll work directly with senior operational and commercial stakeholders, influencing both the performance of existing contracts and the future growth of the business. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact whilst working in a complex and rewarding environment where no two days are the same.
