- Publish certified, governed datasets and define standards for BI consumption, enabling reliable self-service analytics
- Partner with data engineering to improve data quality, enforce security standards, and maintain lineage, metadata, and documentation
- Implement and optimise data pipelines and analytics models using Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native tooling
- Coach and support analytics engineers and analysts through code reviews, mentoring, and best practice adoption
- Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, prioritised, high-value data products while challenging ambiguity and assumptions
- Act as an SME for analytics solutions across Azure/AWS and Databricks-based environments
- Drive performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of analytics solutions through continuous optimisation
- Promote modern analytics engineering standards including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and reusable patterns
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Strong BI experience across Microsoft stack (Power BI, SQL Server/SSRS, Excel)
- Expert in data modelling (dimensional and lakehouse architectures) and enterprise dataset design
- Advanced Databricks and Spark engineering (Delta Lake, performance tuning, orchestration, schema evolution)
- Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS) and secure, scalable data architectures
- Experience implementing data quality frameworks, validation, profiling, and documentation standards
- Expertise in semantic modelling, metrics layers, and certified dataset design for BI consumption
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and data synthesis capability
- 5+ years’ experience in enterprise-scale analytics, BI, or analytics engineering environments
- Proven experience delivering production-grade analytics solutions in complex organisations
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Databricks) – desirable
