As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering strategic initiatives and driving change across Serco's businesses and geographies.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and deliver projects and workstreams, ensuring successful delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, deliverables, and business benefits.
  • Engage with business users, managers, IT specialists, subject matter experts, architects, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of internal staff and external suppliers across organisational and geographical boundaries.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and change requests.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, maintaining accurate documentation in Jira and management reports.
  • Align stakeholder expectations, facilitate decision-making, and provide regular project status updates to business and technical audiences.
  • Apply appropriate project delivery and collaboration methods based on business needs and project constraints.
  • Identify dependencies and opportunities for collaboration across related projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor project and supplier costs against approved budgets and perform regular financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with governance processes, including communication, solution reviews, risk management, and Serco Group policies.
  • Plan, facilitate, and document project meetings, ensuring alignment on objectives, deliverables, responsibilities, timelines, and decisions.
  • Prepare presentations and decision-making materials for senior management.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation in Jira, including progress, achievements, risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation actions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong IT background with extensive experience delivering large and complex technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following areas: cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services), digital platforms, Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID), infrastructure, applications, integrations, or data management.
  • Proven experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Well-organised, proactive, and confident in managing executive (C-level) stakeholders.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing external suppliers and partners.
  • Collaborative, hands-on approach with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in Change and Adoption Management, supporting users through new systems, processes, and ways of working.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges, manage risks, and develop contingency plans.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working across both business and IT environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Native-level or C1 German language skills and professional fluency in English.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience delivering cloud transformation projects, including migrations from on-premises or data centre-hosted environments to Microsoft Azure or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Experience delivering identity, email, device, and file server to SharePoint migration projects.
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Experience delivering business integration or organisational transition projects.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITIL).
  • Previous consultancy experience.
