As the Business Support Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of business support services across RNAS Culdrose and RNAS Yeovilton, ensuring the effective management of people operations, governance, reporting, business continuity and support functions. You'll work closely with operational leaders and customer stakeholders to deliver efficient services that support contract performance and operational excellence.
This is a role where your work has purpose. By providing leadership across critical support services, you'll help create impactful solutions that enable frontline aviation support operations to perform at their best. Your work will drive innovation, build trust with stakeholders, support colleague growth and ensure a positive impact on communities through the delivery of vital defence services.
What you’ll do as a Business Support Manager
- Lead business support services across the Royal Navy Support portfolio, ensuring effective delivery of people operations, governance and support activities.
- Manage and develop the Business Support team, providing leadership to the Workforce Administrator, Contract Administrator, Technical Administrator and Training Cell
- Coordinate governance activities, management information and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely information supports decision-making across the portfolio.
- Lead financial and commercial support activities, including payroll, invoicing, procurement support, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Act as the lead for business continuity, incident management and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) activities across the portfolio.
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while driving continuous improvement, innovation and social value initiatives.
Does this sound like you?
- Degree-qualified in a business or management-related discipline, or able to demonstrate significant management experience in a similar environment.
- Experienced in people management, human resources processes, governance, financial administration, business continuity and operational support services.
- A confident leader who inspires trust, develops talent and motivates teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Skilled in analysing data, developing management information and using technology to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive relationships across customers, colleagues and partners.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you will need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
