Here at Serco, we’re looking for a motivated and independent Development Coach to join our Learning & Development team. This is a home-based role with a flexible working approach, supporting learners across apprenticeship programmes.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of learners, ensuring they achieve within planned timeframes while delivering a high-quality learning experience that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
As part of this you’ll:
- Manage a caseload of apprenticeship learners, ensuring timely progress and achievement
- Deliver engaging teaching, learning, and assessment both remotely and in the workplace
- Develop and maintain tailored learning plans aligned to individual learner needs and goals
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to motivate learners to succeed
- Conduct inductions, initial assessments, and regular progress reviews
- Monitor learner performance, identifying at-risk learners and implementing support plans
- Ensure all learner documentation and files are compliant with ESFA and Ofsted requirements
- Liaise with employers and line managers to support learner development and address concerns
- Deliver Functional Skills support (English, Maths, ICT) where required
- Maintain accurate records using e-portfolio systems
- Support End Point Assessment (EPA) processes in line with awarding body requirements
- Promote safeguarding and maintain a strong duty of care for all learners
- Participate in quality activities such as OTLA and IQA observations
What you’ll need to do the role:
You will be a self-starter who can manage your own workload effectively while delivering high-quality learning experiences. You’ll have:
- Occupational competence in relevant sector
- Experience delivering teaching, learning, and assessment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own diary
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Experience or understanding of apprenticeship standards/frameworks
- Ability to identify and solve problems and adapt to change
- Experience supporting Functional Skills delivery
- This role may require occasional travel to Serco sites
- A minimum Level 5 Operational Management Qualification is desirable
- Project Management Qualifications are desirable
