The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) contract was awarded to Serco for Lot 3 (South-West) and encompasses the delivery of Work Capability Assessments (WCA), Specialist Benefit (SB) Assessments, and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessments. We are seeking an experienced individual to play a crucial role in planning, overseeing, and executing a structured test strategy and plan to deliver releases on time. Your responsibilities will include developing an overarching test strategy for the service, including test specifications, acceptance criteria, working closely with the Authority.
Key purpose
The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, DWP makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits. The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of DWP by Serco.
The MI Analyst will be responsible for the production and delivery of reports to the business and the DWP and supporting initiatives to improve the HAAS service.
Structure and reporting
The role sits within the Performance and Workforce Manager and will report into the MI Manager
Key accountabilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Production & delivery of various reports to the business
- Delivery of contractual reports and invoicing to the client DWP
- New report production, which requires collaboration with the business and technical specification writing/planning. These should be designed in a streamlined way whilst ensuring the best product is produced for the stakeholder.
- Response & delivery of ad hoc analysis
- Production of innovative solutions to improve our service to the business
- Stakeholder liaison and attending internal meetings
- Leading on internal initiatives/projects/programs
Essential technical and professional skills
- Demonstrate a high aptitude of skills using Microsoft products, Excel and Access, harnessing the ability to write/amend languages like SQL & VBA to write calculations and production routines.
- Have excellent communication, presentational and visualisation skills.
- A desire and track record in innovating solutions (including streamlining process and continuous improvement).
- Must be able to demonstrate good analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving • A keen eye for accuracy, a desire to deliver reliability and support a high performing team
- Is highly organised and motivated
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently
- The ability to take full responsibility for a range of data sources, processes and stakeholder delivery in a pro-active manner.
- Ability to train others, sharing best practise, skills and knowledge.
Additional features of the role
- An understanding of MI Analysis products, for example IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau or QlikView.
- A self-starter who is ambitious and be able to effectively engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
