We have created a new role as an Operational Support Lead in our AASC team, you’ll keep essential operational processes running smoothly so colleagues can focus on delivering services that make a real difference. Your work will help ensure accuracy, consistency, and trust across day‑to‑day activity — creating the conditions for a better future for the people and communities we support.

 

You’ll play a key role in strengthening how we work, streamlining processes, coordinating activity, and supporting colleagues with care and clarity. From leading core administrative functions to stepping in on short‑notice priorities, you’ll help create impactful solutions that keep our operations resilient, responsive, and focused on positive impact.

 

What you’ll do as an Operational Support Lead
You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Oversee and quality‑assure core administrative processes including travel booking, transport coordination, certifications, meeting administration, HR‑related tasks, data cleansing, and team mailbox management.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational support queries, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Provide flexible support to Operations Managers, taking on responsibilities that sit outside standard operational duties.
  • Coordinate ad hoc tasks, short‑term priorities, and project elements to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure organisational policies, procedures, and standards are consistently applied across operational support functions.
  • Maintain oversight of required certifications — tracking expiries, coordinating renewals, and escalating risks.
  • Streamline workflows and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise varying workloads and manage competing deadlines.
  • Confidence using systems and digital tools, including Excel and Word.
  • The ability to work independently, use initiative, and adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience supporting colleagues, coordinating tasks, or leading elements of operational or administrative work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required - travel between regions, is required at times.

 

Vetting and checks
This role requires BPSS clearance, which involves identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks to meet government security standards. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be required to ensure we can offer appropriate support for your wellbeing and performance.
