Make an impact that matters

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Social Impact Manager to join our UK&E ESG team on a 6-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Head of Social Impact, this role will support the development and delivery of our Social Impact strategy, helping to shape how we create meaningful outcomes for our customers, communities and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Serco colleague to develop their experience in ESG, social value and strategic delivery, working collaboratively across the business to drive awareness, engagement and measurable impact.

The role

As Social Impact Manager, you will support the delivery of our Social Impact strategy and action plans, ensuring our approach continues to be innovative, industry-leading and aligned with our business strategy, customer expectations and compliance requirements.

You will work closely with operational teams, bid teams, marketing colleagues, partner organisations and wider stakeholders to embed social impact into the way we work - from bid development and mobilisation through to operational delivery.

You will also play a key role in capturing, measuring and communicating our achievements, helping us tell the story of how we are delivering our purpose to impact a better future.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of the UK&E Social Impact strategy and associated action plans.
  • Work with operational teams to design and implement social impact plans, ensuring progress, evidence and achievements are captured effectively.
  • Support social impact activity within bids, mobilisations and operational environments.
  • Manage relationships with partner organisations that support social impact delivery.
  • Collate and analyse social impact performance data, supporting KPI reporting, benchmarking and continuous improvement.
  • Support internal engagement and awareness activity to increase understanding of social impact across the business.
  • Work with marketing teams to bring our social impact achievements to life and demonstrate our impact to key audiences.
  • Monitor changes in social impact policy, regulation, customer expectations and industry best practice to inform ongoing improvement.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about creating positive change and can build strong relationships across a complex organisation.

You will have:

  • Experience supporting or delivering social impact, social value or ESG initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to work independently.
  • A commitment to living our Serco values.

Why join us?

This secondment provides a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience, develop your ESG and social impact capability, and contribute to work that makes a genuine difference.

You’ll work with a passionate team, build relationships across the business, and play a key role in helping us deliver our ambition to create lasting social value.

Interested in making an impact? We’d love to hear from you.
