Join Serco’s Finance Transformation and help build the engine of growth
Serco is transforming Finance to support its future growth, creating a UK-led Global Finance Services (GFS) Hub at the heart of the organisation. This hub is designed to be a true engine of growth - delivering accurate, timely and well-controlled financial information while driving standardisation, efficiency and continuous improvement across the business.
As part of this transformation, we are building the foundations of the new Hub and are recruiting Process Design & Delivery Support Leads to play a critical, hands-on role in documenting, stabilising and standardising Finance processes as the Hub goes live.
This is a delivery-focused role for experienced Finance professionals who thrive in change, are comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and want to make a visible impact in a large-scale people and process transformation.
The role
As a Process Design & Delivery Support Lead, you will play a key role in mapping, documenting and embedding end-to-end A2R processes within the Global Finance Services Hub. Working closely with Serco subject matter experts and the Accenture delivery team, you will ensure Finance processes are clearly defined, well-documented and fit for purpose.
The role has two clear phases. Initially, you will focus on process design, documentation and knowledge capture, ensuring Desktop Procedures (DTPs), training materials and handover documentation are robust and complete. As the Hub moves through go-live, your focus will shift to operational support, stabilisation and ongoing standardisation, supporting newly formed teams and addressing issues as they arise.
All roles are broadly similar; what you work on will depend on when you join and where the biggest delivery need is. Flexibility and a “do whatever it takes” mindset are essential.
As part of this you’ll:
- Map out Finance processes and document Desktop Procedures (DTPs) to a high standard
- Work with SMEs to ensure processes are practical, controlled and scalable
- Identify opportunities for standardisation pre- and post-go-live and support implementation
- Capture process interactions across teams to inform training and knowledge transfer
- Define standard data input templates and assess feasibility across contracts
- Support training of new starters and capture knowledge from transitioning or exiting team members
- Play an active role during go-live and post-go-live stabilisation, supporting operational delivery
- Drive consistency and standard ways of working as the Hub embeds
What you’ll need to do the role:
You’ll be someone who:
- Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent)
- Has experience documenting and embedding standardised Finance processes
- Is highly process- and control-oriented, with strong attention to detail
- Is comfortable working through ambiguity and change
- Is collaborative, adaptable and able to work across multiple stakeholders
- Is hands-on, delivery-focused and happy to jump in where the biggest issue is
- Has experience in a shared services or transition environment (highly desirable)
How success will be measured:
- You integrate quickly into the team and build trust with stakeholders
- You grasp the operating model and current challenges at pace
- Processes are clearly documented, understood and usable
- The Hub stabilises quickly post go-live, with increasing standardisation
- You help set the foundation for a sustainable, scalable Finance Hub
Why Serco:
You’ll be part of a high-profile Finance transformation, playing a hands-on role in shaping Finance processes, systems and culture across a truly global organisation. Working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, you’ll gain standout experience delivering meaningful change while building strong foundations for long-term career opportunities across Serco.
