Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Purchase to Pay (P2P) Operations Manager who truly understands P2P operations - someone who can lead and inspire both onshore and offshore teams, manage complex service delivery through a BPO partner, and drive continuous improvement across a global landscape.
This is not just an operations role - it’s a people leadership role. You’ll need strong people management skills, with the ability to support and motivate teams across multiple regions and time zones. You’ll be working with a wide variety of stakeholders, so excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills are essential. Whether it's guiding your direct reports, influencing a BPO partner, or collaborating across procurement and finance teams, you’ll bring a calm, credible, and approachable leadership style.
This role is a critical part of our MyFinance Shared Services team, overseeing end-to-end P2P operations across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and ASPAC.
As part of this you’ll:
- Lead day-to-day P2P operations delivered by both internal teams and an offshore BPO provider
- Act as the onshore escalation point for operational issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Manage and develop three direct reports: P2P Manager, Pcard Manager, and Buying Support Team Leader
- Oversee Pcard processes including card administration, compliance, and reporting
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of P2P processes across all supported regions
- Monitor BPO performance against SLAs and KPIs, holding them accountable and enabling success
- Ensure strong financial controls and audit readiness, including year-end support and internal audit actions
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance Business Partners, and the P2P Projects team on change initiatives, acquisitions, and system implementations
- Champion training, documentation, and adherence to global standards, while balancing regional differences
- Lead with integrity, building trust and collaboration across a wide stakeholder group, both internally and externally
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Deep P2P operational experience, ideally gained in a global shared services environment
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (must understand the full P2P landscape in SAP)
- Proven experience managing offshore BPO partnerships
- A pragmatic, hands-on mindset - comfortable stepping in when needed, not just delegating
- A track record of leading high-performing teams and managing across different geographies
- Exceptional people skills - credible, approachable, and able to influence stakeholders at all levels
- A continuous improvement mindset - always looking for ways to make processes better
- Experience navigating complexity and driving change in a pressured and fluid environment
