Serco is undertaking a significant Finance Transformation, reshaping how core finance processes are executed and governed across the UK business and we have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Senior Finance Manager – Revenue to lead revenue execution within the UK Finance Hub. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for revenue recognition and associated balance sheet processes across the UK Division and its Joint Ventures. You will lead on-shore and off-shore teams, sit at the centre of month-end close, audit and forecasting, and work closely with Global Process Owners to embed consistent, well-controlled revenue processes aligned to IFRS 15.

 

What you’ll be doing


•    Own the execution of revenue processes during and following finance transformation.
•    Lead month-end close for revenue and related balance sheet accounts.
•    Retain accountability for key revenue controls and balance sheet integrity.
•    Drive root-cause analysis and remediation of recurring revenue issues through your team.
•    Lead the relationship with the external auditors for their planning, process walkthroughs and substantive procedures relating to revenue 
•    Act as a senior business partner to Business Unit Finance Directors, the Divisional CFO and Group Finance.
•    Lead and develop on-shore and off-shore teams.
•    Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

 

What you'll need to do the role


   Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
•    Strong experience in a senior position leading revenue or R2R processes in a complex organisation (ideally outsourcing or an adjacent sector)
•    Strong technical understanding of IFRS 15.
•    Proven leadership within a Shared Services or centralised finance model.
•    Strong financial control and audit experience.
•    Track record of delivering process-led change.
•    Finance transformation experience.
•    Experience working with Business Process Outsourcers
