Location: Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert
Department: Estates & Facilities
Salary: Up to £53,789.00 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

Forth Valley Royal Hospital is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and deliver a portfolio of complex healthcare projects ranging in value from £20,000 to £2 million. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with relevant Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTMs) and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of capital and minor works projects — from initial briefing and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

  • Ensure all projects are compliant with NHS standards, SHTMs, building regulations, and other relevant healthcare guidance.

  • Lead and coordinate third-party contractors, consultants, and suppliers, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met.

  • Take full responsibility for Health & Safety management, including CDM compliance, risk assessments, and site safety monitoring.

  • Prepare and present progress reports, financial updates, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work collaboratively with the Estates, Facilities, and Clinical teams to minimise disruption to hospital operations.

  • Identify and implement efficiency and sustainability improvements within project delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management within a healthcare, estates, or construction environment.

  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects of varying scale and complexity (up to £2m value).

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, CDM Regulations, Health & Safety, and building compliance.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and deliver under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project management qualification.

  • Experience working within NHS estates or a similar healthcare setting.

  • Familiarity with SHTMs, HTMs, and healthcare design guidance.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to deliver meaningful projects that enhance patient care and healthcare environments.

  • Collaborative working culture within a supportive Estates and Facilities team.
