As a Technical Services Manager in our Healthcare team, you’ll lead the delivery of Hard Facilities Management services across a complex acute hospital environment. You’ll provide technical leadership, ensure compliance with statutory and contractual requirements, and help maintain critical engineering systems that support patient care every day.

Working closely with NHS partners, specialist contractors and Serco teams, you’ll help deliver services people can trust while creating impactful solutions that support a better future.
What you’ll do as a Technical Services Manager
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of Hard Facilities Management services, ensuring maintenance activities support the safe and efficient operation of the hospital.
- Manage a multidisciplinary technical team, providing leadership, guidance, development and performance management.
- Act as the lead for technical compliance, ensuring engineering systems meet all statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Work closely with NHS stakeholders, contractors, Authorising Engineers and partners to deliver a customer-focused service.
- Manage maintenance compliance, technical audits, risk registers, asset condition reporting and lifecycle planning activities.
- Support budget management, KPI delivery, variation pricing and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Does this sound like you?
- Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent in an engineering discipline, with significant experience in a maintenance or engineering management environment.
- Strong knowledge of complex mechanical, electrical and building systems within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
- Experience leading technical teams and managing contractors to deliver safe, compliant and effective services.
- Commercial awareness with experience delivering against service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Able to build trusted relationships, make informed decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.

Vetting and checks
This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
