As a Case Planning Officer, you will manage inmates’ cases, assess their risks and needs, and develop plans to reduce reoffending. You’ll work with custodial and probation officers to support smooth transitions from prison to the community while promoting rehabilitation and maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

As a Case Planning Officer in the Case Planning team at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Demonstrating a commitment to Serco’s values and the rehabilitation process
• Promoting cultural awareness by fostering an understanding of the impact and management of diverse ethnic backgrounds, customs and contemporary issues
• Maintaining a high level of integrity and ethical behaviour

About Clarence Correctional Centre

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed, state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional centre in Australia.

Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast, approximately six hours’ drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of Australia’s best beaches, along with multicultural cafés, restaurants and friendly community towns.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences, or relevant industry experience in a similar role
• Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management), or the ability to complete it within the first 12 months of employment
• Experience in case management and/or rehabilitation and reintegration practices
• Exposure to the criminal justice system or similar human services
• A competent level of computer literacy and report-writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
