As a Sentence Administration Team Leader at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll lead the operational management of the Sentence Administration Unit, ensuring accurate and lawful detention and release processes. You’ll oversee day-to-day task allocation, quality control and compliance, while supporting your team to deliver high-quality administrative services. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining legislative integrity and operational excellence across the Centre.
As a Sentence Administration Team Leader in the Sentence Administration team at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll make a positive impact by:

Leading the daily allocation of tasks and overseeing team performance

Applying complex legislation to ensure lawful detention and release

Verifying court orders and legal documentation for accuracy and intent

Monitoring quality control and ensuring compliance with policy and standards

Building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Supporting and developing team members to achieve operational goals
About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.
Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast, approximately 6 hours’ drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, the region offers rainforests, stunning headlands, sand dunes and some of Australia’s best beaches, alongside vibrant multicultural cafes, restaurants and welcoming community towns.

A Diploma of Business Administration or relevant industry experience

Experience supervising a Sentence Administration team
-
Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policy and procedures

Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, NSW legislation
-
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
-
High attention to detail and commitment to ethical practice
This position carries trust and responsibility. To support this, a comprehensive probity assessment including a National Police Check and Corrective Services NSW clearance is required. Compliance with relevant health and safety and PPE requirements is also essential.
