As a Trades Instructor – Waste Management at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll play an important role supporting rehabilitation through practical trade training. Working within a collaborative industries team, you’ll guide people in custody as they develop waste management skills and safe work practices. You’ll help create a structured and supportive environment that encourages learning, responsibility and positive change. Your work will contribute to safer communities and meaningful reintegration outcomes.

As a Trades Instructor – Waste Management in the Industries team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Supervising waste management activities and daily work routines

• Supporting rehabilitation by developing practical waste management skills

• Monitoring behaviour and identifying potential risks or welfare concerns

• Maintaining safety, security and environmental compliance standards

• Managing waste operations equipment, stock and inventory processes

• Completing reports on activities, incidents and operational outcomes

You could be a great fit if you have:

• Certificate IV in Waste Management

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in waste management operations

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)

• Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to obtain)

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety requirements

• Strong communication skills and commitment to rehabilitation
