HR Vetting & Onboarding Administrator – 7 Months Fixed Term Contract
Location: VOB Office, Central House, Kirkby, Merseyside (with flexible working)
Reporting to: VOB Team Manager
Salary: £24,500 + Corporate Benefits

We’re looking for a HR Vetting & Onboarding Administrator who can deliver a high-quality, accurate and customer-focused service to our employees, hiring managers and internal stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail focused, organised, confident working with multiple systems, and passionate about delivering a positive onboarding journey.
What you’ll do
- Process BPSS, DBS, Home Office, Ministry of Justice, and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) clearances for new joiners, employees and contractors.
- Support and advise managers on criminality checks and the application of relevant legislation.
- Conduct Right to Work checks, support visa processes and ensure full compliance with UKVI guidelines.
- Coordinate and monitor Occupational Health checks, ensuring timely completion and escalation.
- Verify identity documents, obtain references and maintain accurate personnel data in line with screening requirements.
- Generate offer packages and guide new employees through the onboarding process.
- Manage queries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear, timely and professional communication.
- Maintain, update and cleanse vetting records and HR systems in line with GDPR and security requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Security Controllers, external agencies and Serco colleagues across multiple contracts.
What you’ll bring
- Strong administrative experience with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Confident using multiple systems and comfortable learning new software.
- Excellent communication skills - able to liaise professionally with employees, managers and external organisations.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, able to handle a high-volume workload.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to explain processes clearly and manage expectations.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of UK Right to Work and UKVI legislation.
- Exposure to vetting or security clearance processes (BPSS, DBS, UKSV, HO/MoJ).
- Experience in HR administration, onboarding or recruitment processing.
