Shape the Future of Data and AI-Driven Transformation

At Serco, we’re helping governments and organisations harness the power of data and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver smarter, fairer, and more connected public services.

As a Solutions Lead - Data & AI, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the digital future of our customers - turning insight into impact through the intelligent use of data and emerging technologies.

This is not a delivery role - it’s a strategic, commercially focused position, where your success is measured by your ability to shape and win strategic deals, inspire confidence in our customers, and demonstrate how data and AI can unlock meaningful value as part of wider transformation.

You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and storytelling - helping clients envision how data-driven change can transform operations, services, and citizen outcomes.

Your mission

You’ll be the driving force behind the development of strategic, data-led propositions that help our customers see the art of the possible.

From opportunity shaping through to bid submission, you’ll ensure every proposal:

  • Integrates data, machine learning, and intelligent automation into a compelling, value-led narrative.
  • Demonstrates clear alignment to customer ambitions, digital strategies, and public sector standards.
  • Embeds ethical, transparent, and responsible AI at its core.
  • Balances innovation, feasibility, and commercial value to create winning, sustainable solutions.

You’ll collaborate closely with bid teams, data specialists, solution architects, and sector leads - translating technical potential into strategic opportunity.

You will...

  • Lead the development of data, analytics, and AI propositions that shape and win new business.
  • Build the case for change, demonstrating measurable value through data insights and AI use cases.
  • Shape compelling narratives that link data and AI innovation to broader transformation programmes.
  • Design end-to-end data and AI strategies, including governance, architecture, analytics, and ethical frameworks.
  • Scan the horizon for emerging trends and use cases - from AgenticAI to data mesh - ensuring Serco remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Provide light-touch assurance on implementation to ensure quality and strategic alignment.
  • Collate insights and best practices to enhance internal data and AI capability across the Enterprise Data Office.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and customers, communicating complex concepts in clear, strategic language.
  • Champion responsible and ethical AI, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in every solution.

You bring...

  • 8+ years’ experience in consultancy or transformation, with a strong record of shaping and winning strategic deals.
  • Proven expertise in data strategy, AI/ML, and digital transformation - ideally in the public sector.
  • Hands-on understanding of AI use cases such as predictive analytics, NLP, GenAI, and computer vision.
  • Strong grasp of data governance, ethics, and regulation in government or highly regulated environments.
  • The ability to translate technical depth into business value, influencing senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and contemporary data architectures.
  • Awareness of AI assurance and risk management frameworks, with a passion for ethical, responsible innovation.
  • The ability to achieve SC clearance is essential.

Why Serco:

This is your opportunity to shape the next generation of data and AI-driven public services.

You’ll be part of a growing Enterprise Data Office, working with visionary leaders, strategic partners, and government innovators to deliver real impact - from AI-enabled decision-making to next-generation data ecosystems that power better services.

At Serco, you’ll work in a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and purpose. Every idea you shape has the potential to make a difference - not just to our customers, but to millions of citizens.
