We are currently seeking a DevSecOps Expert to join our team supporting the European Commission in in Maastricht, Netherlands, as well as in other locations across Europe. The position is open to both employees and freelance contractors.

Key Responsibilities

The aim of this position is to provide full-time support for maintaining the standardised MUAC DevSecOps Toolchain (MDT) and supporting development teams in their migration to the platform.

  • Support and configure existing pipelines on Jenkins (SonarQube, Sonatype Lifecycle, and Nexus Repository Server).
  • Onboard new pipelines on Jenkins.
  • Maintain the Remedy to Jira integration and carry out the necessary adaptations for the Remedy upgrade and Atlassian Cloud migration.
  • Maintain existing MDT containers for Java, C++, and Node.js.
  • Support and implement secure development practices following shift-left principles.
  • Monitor components, identify risks and obstacles, and ensure that product-related issues are addressed.
  • Review priorities, make recommendations, participate in decision-making, and coordinate with relevant teams.

Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in the ICT domain or a relevant engineering field.
  • Proficiency in English (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) at level C1/B2/B2/C1. English language skills may be further evaluated during an interview.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in software design and development.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience programming in Java or C++.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience programming in Python.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus Repository) would be an asset.
  • Experience working in multicultural teams.
  • Experience working in large, multinational environments within public or private organisations.
  • Strong team player with a positive and open-minded attitude, and a commitment to delivering results.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  • One (1) year of experience in developing and using containers.
  • One (1) year of experience with Agile working methods and the Atlassian tool suite (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) would be an asset.
  • One (1) year of experience with test frameworks (Robot Framework) and test automation would be an asset.
  • One (1) year of experience using AsciiDoc for the documentation-as-code principle.
