We are hiring a Linux Admin Support Operators for the Eurocontrol in Maastricht, Netherlands and various locations around Europe.

Key Responsibilities

MUAC is seeking Tenderers who can provide expert(s) with the required expertise in delivering time-based support within critical, high-availability technical environment to support and assist EUROCONTROL internal staff in the Simulator team (SRS). Focus is on the development of the real-time simulation environment, with a special focus on CADSIM, and other tools of our ATCO simulator system. CADSIM is an internally developed tool/platform for creating training scenarios utilising the Flight Data Processing data streams from our ATC FDPS

 

  • First- and second-level support for Linux-based systems and user requests.
  • Troubleshoot server, operating system, and network-level issues in both production and development environments.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and system configuration changes.
  • Monitor system health and responding to alerts proactively.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching and log management.
  • Document resolutions and support procedures to enhance service quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering teams when necessary.
  • Participate in standby services as part of the SOV team’s 24/7 support rotation.
  • Provide helpdesk support to the OIT team up to two days per week.
  • Participating in training sessions and updating of related documentation and procedures is required.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

 

The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each of the proposed expert has minimum three (3) years of experience, which shall be proven by a detailed description and a provision of at least one (1) project reference in each of the 4 domains specified below:

  • Linux Administration
  • Virtualisation: VMware and AHV
  • Containerisation: Podman and Kubernetes
  • Certificate management

 

The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed expert has minimum three (3) years of experience, which shall be proven by a detailed description and a provision of at least one (1) project reference in each of the 7 domains specified below:

  • Clearcase
  • Ansible
  • SELinux
  • Red Hat IDM
  • LDAP
  • Active Directory
  • Red Hat or SUSE

 

  • The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed expert has minimum three (3) years of experience with a Linux Patch manager (for example SUMA)
  • The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed experts has minimum two (2) years of experience with Red Hat Linux deployment automation with Terraform
  • The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed expert has minimum one (1) year of experience with CommVault or Rubrik backup
  • The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed experts has minimum one (1) year of experience with Repository management (e.g. Nexus)
  • The Tenderer shall demonstrate that each proposed experts has minimum one (1) year of experience with Gitops principles (e.g. FluxCD)

Qualifications

Mandatory:

    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent to a Bachelor University Diploma, in the ICT domain or relevant engineering. In the absence of a diploma, the candidate must possess minimum six (6) years of professional experience in Linux administration
    • Certification in: LPI (or equivalent), CKA
