As Full Stack Developer, you’ll help us deliver secure, reliable and user-centred digital applications across front-end, back-end, integration and cloud platforms. You’ll work within our DTS Products & Digital Capability team, collaborating with product, design, architecture, testing, business and operational stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a passion for learning and solving business problems. You’ll be comfortable reaching out to stakeholders, understanding what they need, and turning ideas into practical solutions. Rather than needing to be an expert in every technology, we’re looking for someone who can learn quickly, work pragmatically and move ideas forward.

You’ll make a positive impact by:

• Designing, building and maintaining full stack applications across the technology stack
• Understanding business and operational problems and translating them into practical technical solutions
• Working directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Quickly developing beta versions, prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test ideas and demonstrate value
• Providing pragmatic cost and effort estimates to support business decisions and prioritisation
• Developing responsive, accessible and high-performing user interfaces
• Building scalable back-end services, APIs and integration solutions
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and production releases
• Explaining technical concepts and proposed solutions in simple, relatable terms to business and operational stakeholders

• Strong full stack engineering capability across front-end, back-end, APIs, databases and cloud
• A passion for technology, curiosity and a willingness to learn — you don't need to be an expert in every technology
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work quickly and iterate to deliver a beta or minimum viable solution
• The ability to understand the business problem behind the technology requirement and identify and articulate an appropriate solution
• Confidence engaging directly with business and operational stakeholders and proactively reaching out to understand their needs
• The ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, using simple and relatable language for non-technical audiences
• The ability to provide realistic cost and effort estimates and balance technical considerations with business priorities
• Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Java, Python, Node.js, React, Angular, Vue or .NET
• Experience designing secure, scalable REST, GraphQL or event-driven integrations
• Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, containers and cloud services

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen so that we can obtain the required Baseline Defence Security Clearance for you.
