Make an impact at Serco

At Serco, we do important work that really matters. As our People & Capability Manager, you’ll partner with operational leaders across a large, nationally significant Community Services contract supporting people with disability and the broader community. Leading both strategic and operational people priorities, you’ll shape workforce capability, leadership effectiveness and cultural maturity across a complex, geographically dispersed workforce. Working closely with senior leaders and Centres of Expertise, you’ll deliver practical workforce solutions that strengthen operational performance, support transformation and ensure our people feel safe, supported and empowered to do their best work. This is a highly visible senior leadership role where your expertise will directly influence service delivery outcomes, workforce sustainability and long-term contract success.

The People & Capability (P&C) function is a strategic partner to the business, working hand in hand with leaders to translate contract requirements and organisational strategy into practical, sustainable workforce solutions.

As a People & Capability Manager in the Community Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Leading strategic people initiatives aligned to operational, contractual and community outcomes
  • Driving workforce transformation, organisational design and culture uplift programs
  • Developing leadership capability through coaching, performance management and succession planning
  • Guiding complex employee and industrial relations matters within highly regulated and unionised environments
  • Providing expert advice on complex employee relations, industrial relations and workforce risk matters
  • Enhancing workforce planning, engagement and retention through people insights and operational data
  • Partnering with operational leaders to strengthen accountability, capability and continuous improvement across frontline teams

Serco is a place for you

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Extensive experience leading strategic and operational P&C functions within large, complex organisations
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed frontline workforces in disability, community services, healthcare or Government-aligned environments
  • Strong employee and industrial relations capability, including managing complex workforce matters and risk
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and building leadership capability at scale
  • Experience leading workforce transformation, operational change and service delivery growth initiatives
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance operational priorities with long-term workforce strategy
  • Confidence using workforce data and insights to support evidence-based decision making
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline

In joining us, you’ll be part of a highly supportive culture with trusted leaders that will help you achieve your goals. Here, you will appreciate a flexible approach to work-life that comes with working at a company with long-term government-backed contracts.
