We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to help us deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions that support citizen services. Based in Melbourne, you’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners, including Government stakeholders, to develop applications that make a real difference. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring and uplifting team practices by championing collaboration, UI/UX design, and secure coding.

As a Senior Software Developer in the Technology team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Designing and developing modern software using .NET Core/.NET 6+, React/Angular, and SQL

• Collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to transform user needs into reliable tech solutions

• Supporting a DevOps culture through CI/CD and microservices experience

• Leading peer code reviews and promoting secure development and ISO27001 standards

• Improving system usability through user-centred design and accessibility best practices

• Supporting legacy system upgrades to deliver better user experiences

Serco is a place for you

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

• Over 8 years of software development experience across full-stack technologies

• Advanced skills in C#, .NET, React or Angular, SQL Server, and Git

• Strong understanding of secure coding, accessibility, and performance optimisation

• Experience collaborating with diverse teams using Agile or Waterfall methodologies

• A degree in Computer Science or similar, plus relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft)

• A passion for designing intuitive and efficient user experiences
