Your craftsmanship and expertise will support the smooth operation of a busy acute hospital, ensuring colleagues, patients and visitors can rely on a safe and effective healthcare setting.

Our work touches lives every day. From maintaining critical fire compartmentation to carrying out essential repairs and improvement works, you'll have a direct positive impact on communities by helping to ensure healthcare facilities remain safe, functional and fit for purpose. This is a role where quality workmanship, care and pride in what you do will help impact a better future.

What you’ll do as a Maintenance Craftsperson (Joiner)

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities across the hospital estate.
  • Undertake a wide range of joinery duties including first fix, second fix, carcassing, bench work and general repairs.
  • Complete building fabric maintenance, refurbishment, lifecycle replacement and minor works projects within agreed timescales.
  • Perform fire compartmentation surveys and undertake remedial works to support statutory compliance.
  • Use the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to record completed work, update maintenance records and manage task information.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled estates team to deliver an efficient maintenance service while adhering to health, safety and environmental procedures.

Does this sound like you?

  • Completed a recognised craft apprenticeship and hold a relevant NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds qualification or equivalent in Joinery, Carpentry or Woodworking.
  • Experience carrying out maintenance and repair activities across a diverse building estate.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Able to work independently, solve problems effectively and manage changing priorities.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills and the ability to work positively as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
