Make an impact at Serco

As a Learning and Development Training Officer at Fiona Stanley Hospital, you'll support the delivery of training initiatives that promote safe work practices and legislative compliance across our healthcare services. Working closely with the L&D Specialist Training Lead and key stakeholders, you'll deliver engaging training programs, maintain learning resources and help build a capable and confident workforce. This is a hands-on role where your passion for learning, strong communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement will make a real difference to employee capability and patient outcomes.

As a Learning and Development Training Officer, you'll make a positive impact by:

  • Delivering and assessing manual handling, patient handling and aggression prevention training programs

  • Completing patient handling safety observations and competency assessments

  • Coordinating training schedules, enrolments and learning activities with key stakeholders

  • Creating and maintaining training courses, resources and supporting documentation within the Learning Management System

  • Maintaining training records, compliance data and course administration through the Learning Management System

  • Providing guidance and support to employees accessing training resources and completing learning requirements

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering and assessing manual handling or aggression prevention training

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences

  • Experience working within workplace health and safety, ergonomics or a healthcare environment

  • Working towards, or have completed, a Bachelor qualification in Human Movement, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or another relevant area of study

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and deliver quality outcomes

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems and training technologies

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred)

  • Workplace First Aid certification, including current CPR compliance
