As Mechanical Maintenance Officer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of facilities at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Working within the Estates team, you’ll help coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities while supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of service. You’ll collaborate closely with clinical stakeholders, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure infrastructure and specialist systems are maintained safely and effectively. Your work helps ensure patients, staff and visitors experience a safe and reliable hospital environment.

As Mechanical Maintenance Officer in the Estates team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Providing technical support as the subject matter expert on wide variety of mechanical plant maintenance including Heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps & motors.
  • Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities across mechanical facilities systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, emergency generators, chillers and associated plant and equipment.
  • Supporting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with OSHE processes
  • Managing work orders and allocating resources to meet maintenance priorities
  • Liaising with clinical teams, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting team mentoring, scheduling and workforce coordination
  • Identifying operational improvements and supporting asset management processes

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience supervising or coordinating maintenance teams
  • Facilities management or hospital infrastructure experience
  • Experience using maintenance management systems or work order platforms
  • A relevant trade qualification (electrical, plumbing, refrigeration or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems proactively
  • Contractor management experience, ideally within a hospital facility or large multi asset facilities
  • HVAC and refrigeration background with supervisory experience is preferred
