As a Mechanical Technician (Fitter), you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient hospital environment. You’ll work within a collaborative maintenance team, supporting the performance of critical mechanical systems and equipment. Your work will directly contribute to high-quality patient care by ensuring facilities operate reliably. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

As a Mechanical Technician (Fitter) in the Estates Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Maintaining mechanical plant and equipment across the facility
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
• Monitoring building management systems to optimise performance
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical faults efficiently
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on maintenance tasks
• Contributing to a safe and compliant healthcare environment

This position entails:

• A 12-hour shift roster and requires 24/7 availability.
• Shifts may be scheduled Monday to Sunday, including days (6am–6pm), nights (6pm–6am), weekends, and public holidays.
• Fixed Roster pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 5 days off; 2 days, 3 nights, 4 days off; 3 days, 2 nights, 5 days off (pattern repeats).
• You’ll receive your roster in advance to help you plan your week.
• The hourly base rate inclusive of shift allowance for this role is $$59.09.

• a Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or similar qualification
• Experience in large commercial or healthcare facilities
• Strong problem-solving skills in engineering environments
• Hands-on experience with pumps, motors, and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS)
• Proactive, reliable, and team-focused approach
