As the Network and Unified Communications (UC) Manager at Fiona Stanley Hospital, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and optimization of one of the most advanced healthcare network environments in Australia. Your expertise will ensure the hospital’s wired, wireless, and voice networks perform reliably, securely, and efficiently supporting thousands of staff, clinicians, and patients every day.

You’ll combine strategic planning, hands-on technical mastery, and leadership to drive network innovation and resilience across voice and data services. Working closely with ICT and clinical stakeholders, you’ll shape the future of healthcare connectivity while ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence.

As a Network and UC Manager, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Leading the planning, design, and management of network and unified communications infrastructure
  • Driving innovation through scalable, secure, and future-ready networking solutions
  • Embedding cybersecurity and zero-trust principles across all network layers
  • Managing and developing a high-performing team of network engineers and specialists
  • Overseeing capacity planning, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Partnering with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to deliver best-in-class connectivity
  • Guiding network automation and adoption of emerging technologies such as SD-WAN and SASE
  • Ensuring network resilience through business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Experience with Cisco-based environments—will set you apart as well as a good understanding and proven track record of managing hybrid cloud environments. If you have a background in cybersecurity and a solid understanding of telephony and voice systems (without needing deep technical expertise), we’d love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification (Enterprise, Collaboration, Data Centre or Wireless)
  • Deep expertise in routing, switching, wireless, and voice technologies, including Cisco CUCM
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments
  • Advanced knowledge of network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into business value
  • ITIL Foundation and/or CCIE certifications (desirable)
  • Experience in a healthcare or critical service environment (preferred)
