Make an impact at Serco

As a Purchasing Officer, you’ll support the efficient delivery of purchasing and Purchase to Pay activities across Fiona Stanley Hospital. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, Procurement and our Offshore Shared Service Centre, you’ll help ensure purchasing processes are accurate, timely and aligned with our standards. You’ll also contribute to process improvements that help make purchasing simpler and more effective for our teams.

As a Purchasing Officer in the Procurement team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Creating Purchase Orders with accurate GL and WBS coding
• Supporting stakeholders with quotes, supplier engagement and purchasing processes
• Managing goods receipting, invoice workflows and supplier queries
• Supporting month-end accruals, reconciliations and Purchase to Pay activities
• Resolving blocked invoices, GR/IR issues and other purchasing queries
• Contributing to continuous improvement across the Purchase to Pay process

You’ll also support emergency vendor onboarding, subcontractor annual rate indexation and other Procurement activities as required, including providing leave coverage for the team.

You could be a great fit if you have:

• Previous purchasing experience, with a track record of delivering value through purchasing or procurement
• Accounts Payable experience or a sound understanding of financial processes
• Experience working with Purchase to Pay systems, with SAP experience highly regarded
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• The ability to work independently, solve problems and maintain a professional approach
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with internal stakeholders and suppliers

A relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded but isn't essential.

You’ll also need to meet the role’s required pre-employment checks and hospital vaccination requirements, including a satisfactory National Police Check.
