As a Control Room Operator at Fiona Stanley Hospital, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient hospital environment. Working as part of the Safety and Incident Management Service (SIMS), you’ll monitor and manage critical systems — including CCTV, alarms, intercoms, and access controls — while responding quickly and professionally to incidents across the site.
You’ll be the eyes and ears of the hospital, helping ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff, and supporting seamless coordination between SIMS Patrol Officers, Facilities Officers, and hospital teams.
As a Control Room Operator, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Monitoring and managing CCTV, building management, and access control systems
- Responding to and escalating safety, security, and emergency incidents
- Coordinating Agility work orders and assigning tasks to on-site teams
- Managing customer queries and troubleshooting access or system issues
- Maintaining detailed records and incident logs with accuracy and professionalism
- Ensuring compliance with safety and hospital procedures
- Supporting after-hours operations, including door access and alarm monitoring
- Collaborating with team leaders to deliver high-quality, customer-focused service

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Certificate II in Security Operations (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Experience working in a fast-paced or control room environment (desirable)
- Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks simultaneously
- A professional, customer-focused approach with a commitment to safety
