With this in mind, we are seeking a European-based Configuration Management Specialist who provides configuration and data management support to the IRIS² programme, acting as the operational link between the CTAS service team and the ESA project control function to ensure full alignment with the programme configuration baseline.

You would have the opportunity to contribute to activities like the establishment and maintenance of configuration management plans and procedures, management of configuration items and product trees, and the production of key configuration deliverables, ensuring traceability, consistency, and controlled evolution of programme data and documentation.

Your Mission

  • Ensure continuous alignment of all service documentation with the official programme configuration baseline.
  • Act as the operational interface between the service team and ESA project control for configuration management matters.
  • Execute configuration and data management activities for projects interfacing with the European Commission and the industrial consortium.
  • Define, maintain, and apply the Configuration and Data Management (CADM) plan and associated procedures.
  • Establish and maintain the product tree, Configuration Item Data List (CIDL), and configuration inventories.
  • Perform configuration status accounting and produce baseline and status reports such as CBCS and CSAR.
  • Coordinate and control configuration changes, including CPs, CRs, RFDs, and RFWs, ensuring full traceability.
  • Organise and support Configuration Control Board activities, including agendas, documentation, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Configure and manage configuration‑controlled data repositories and user access in coordination with security authorities.
  • Provide configuration inputs to programme reviews, audits, inspections, and process optimisation activities.

  • Provide a robust configuration and data management framework, including a clear CADM plan and well‑defined procedures.
  • Deliver accurate configuration status accounting through consistent baseline tracking and clear, auditable reporting.
  • Execute disciplined end‑to‑end change control, ensuring full traceability from change request to implementation.
  • Effectively organise and support Configuration Control Boards, including agendas, documentation, decisions, and action tracking.
  • Maintain structured, version‑controlled data repositories with secure and compliant access management.
  • Ensure continuous alignment between project documentation, configuration baselines, and programme‑level requirements.
  • Act as a reliable operational interface between project teams, programme control, security, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide complete and coherent configuration inputs to technical reviews, audits, and inspections.
  • Identify configuration risks and inefficiencies and propose pragmatic process improvements and optimisations.
  • Apply configuration management standards with a strong compliance mindset while supporting efficient programme execution.
Technical:
  • Work experience in the Space domain will be an asset
  • Need to be an EU national and eligible to obtain EU Personal Security Clearance.
