Introduction
Your Mission
- Provide engineering support for the design, implementation, and evolution of ground segment IT infrastructure solutions supporting CSC programmes.
- Support scalable, containerized, and multi‑environment IT architectures across development, test, and operational environments.
- Support deployments, technical reviews, and infrastructure‑related milestones in line with project and operational requirements.
- Design, support, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN architectures, including routing and switching, VLAN segmentation, VPN technologies, and end‑to‑end network performance optimization.
- Support datacentre environments, including hypervisors, server and storage platforms, clustering solutions, and multi‑tenant platform‑as‑a‑service environments.
- Deploy, configure, and manage infrastructure using automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code approaches.
- Support cloud platforms and container technologies for operational ground segment services.
- Contribute to network and platform security, including identity and access management, monitoring, observability, and incident response.
- Ensure infrastructure operations follow structured operational practices and service management frameworks.
- Coordinate with ground segment system engineering, subsystems engineering, operations engineering, and validation engineering teams.
- Interface with the industry responsible for the installation and deployment of IT infrastructure, supporting technical coordination and issue resolution.
- Technically assess and review industry deliverables related to ground segment IT infrastructure.
- Produce regular reporting, including monthly reports demonstrating delivered support and technical progress.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrate end‑to‑end delivery of mission‑critical IT infrastructure across design, deployment, operations, and evolution.
- Translate requirements into robust infrastructure architectures with a clear rationale for scalability, resilience, and security.
- Execute deployments and migrations across development, validation, and operational environments using controlled and repeatable approaches.
- Engineer, support, and optimize LAN/WAN networks, including routing, segmentation, VPNs, and end‑to‑end performance.
- Support data centre and platform environments covering compute, storage, clustering, virtualization, and multi‑tenant services.
- Provide reusable automation assets that standardize infrastructure builds, configurations, and changes.
- Implement infrastructure security and compliance controls, including identity management, monitoring, logging, and incident response.
- Conduct technical reviews and supplier oversight with clear findings, risks, recommendations, and action follow‑up.
- Coordinate effectively with system engineering, validation, operations, and industry to ensure coherent end‑to‑end solutions.
- Deliver concise, high‑quality documentation and reporting covering designs, configurations, procedures, progress, and risks.
