On behalf of our team in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Junior Financial Administrator to support the European Space Agency at ESTEC.

The Community You’ll Step Into

At Serco, you will join an experienced on-site team supporting the European Space Agency at ESTEC in Noordwijk. Within ESA’s Financial Operations Section, the focus is on supporting ESA staff throughout their business travel and financial administration journeys, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners such as travel agencies, car rental providers, auditors and IT support teams.
You will be part of an international and collaborative environment where accuracy, service quality, and reliability are essential. The role offers daily interaction with ESA colleagues and systems, providing a strong foundation for developing your career within a structured and professional space organisation.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Junior Financial Administrator, you will play an important role in ensuring that financial and travel-related processes run smoothly and in line with ESA rules and procedures. Your work will directly support ESA staff by ensuring that travel claims, invoices and settlements are processed accurately and on time.


By maintaining high standards of data quality, supporting reconciliations, and contributing to reporting activities, you will help ensure transparency, compliance, and efficiency across financial operations. Your contribution will support the reliability of ESA’s financial processes and the positive experience of staff using these services.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will support the certification and calculation of individual travel claims, checking supporting vouchers and invoices and applying the relevant agency rules. You will calculate business trip settlements and enter the corresponding data into ESA systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.


You will receive and process invoices from travel agents and car hire providers, reconcile corporate credit card transactions, and support the correction of ticket discrepancies and error logs. You will also upload invoices and credit notes into SAP, assist with resolving SAP posting errors, and contribute to payment list checks and execution.
In addition, you will support the creation of statistics and reports, maintain proper filing of financial documentation, and assist with ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Team Manager, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.

What You'll Bring

  • Vocational degree (MBO) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Travel & Expense processing, Accounts Payable is an asset.
  • Strong hands-on experience with travel expense claims and settlement processes
  • Experience using SAP (ECC module preferred) and SAP ConcurSolid understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
  • Ability to manage high workloads, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Resourceful and good conflict management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English (French is an asset).
  • Must be EU National
