We’re looking for a Space Systems Engineering Training Coordinator to join our on-site team at ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk (Netherlands)!

Key Responsibilities

Training Programme Design and Coordination:

  • Support the definition, design, and delivery of the ESA Space Systems Engineering training programme for ESA staff.
  • Contribute to the high-level and detailed design of the multi-course training plan, including objectives, content, structure, and delivery methods.
  • Coordinate the development and review of course modules, collaborating with ESA experts and lecturers across directorates.
  • Support the selection and organisation of training facilities, materials, and logistics for on-site courses.

 

Training Development and Evaluation:

  • Develop and maintain training outlines, learning objectives, and supporting materials for each module.
  • Coordinate dry runs and evaluation sessions to validate training quality and consistency.
  • Collect and analyse participant feedback and assessment results, ensuring lessons learned are applied to future editions.
  • Prepare and maintain training records, participant databases, and statistics.

 

Collaboration and Governance:

  • Liaise with the ESA Academy, HR, and Education Office to align training processes with Agency standards.
  • Coordinate the governance board meetings and approval workflows.
  • Contribute to cross-unit activities supporting ESA’s wider educational and outreach goals.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify content suitable for e-learning and online course adaptation.
  • Propose and implement process and content improvements based on participant feedback and evolving training needs.
  • Support the creation of communication materials and outreach content related to training activities.

Skills

Skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Education, or Project Management (or a related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in training coordination, programme design, or educational project management, ideally in a technical context.
  • Proficient in project coordination, training design, and educational programme management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Skilled in preparing training outlines, documentation, and participant materials.
  • Capable of coordinating multi-stakeholder activities and handling multiple parallel tasks.
  • Detail-oriented and experienced in quality assurance and evaluation processes.
  • Experience working with engineering training programmes or technical education initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ESA Academy methodologies and STEM outreach activities.
  • Understanding of space systems engineering fundamentals and ESA’s technical environment.


Other knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in course evaluation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of digital learning tools and content development.
  • Familiarity with ESA processes and documentation standards is an asset.


Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly across technical and educational teams in an international context.
