Here at Serco we have an opportunity for a Cleaning Operative to join our close-knit team working in our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services based in the West Midlands. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.
The primary function of this role is to provide cleaning services in the West Midlands which may vary dependant on business need so a valid driver’s licence, a willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK is essential.
You will be responsible for cleaning a number of properties using a variety of cleaning materials and equipment as well as reporting any cleaning appliance faults to the relevant teams. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures and regulations – COSHH - are adhered to and be competent in the use of all chemicals and cleaning materials provided.
What you need to do the job
You will be self-motivated, have experience of cleaning households / large accommodation, experienced in managing your time effectively and a willingness to work overtime in line with business needs.
This is a role in which requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written due to the variety of countabilities which also include the following:
- Working to tight timescales
- Disposing of waste from properties
- Replenishing stock
- Assisting other geographical areas when required
- Using the appropriate equipment to clean carpets
- Working individually and working as part of a team
Due to the nature of the role Security Clearance at Counter Terrorism Check level and Criminal Record Bureau checks are required (all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).
