Salary: £13.16 per hour plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Part time / 24 hours per week

Shift work – combination of earlies, 6am–2pm, and lates, 2pm–10pm.

As a Receptionist at Ferry Leisure Centre, you’ll be the welcoming face of the facility, supporting colleagues and customers while helping create a smooth and positive experience from the moment they walk in. Your work will make a genuine difference to our community by keeping services running safely, efficiently, and with care.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring visitors feel supported and informed, while helping us deliver services that people rely on. Every day you’ll contribute to creating a space where everyone feels valued, safe, and able to enjoy their time with us.

What you’ll do as a Receptionist

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Operate our computerised front-of-house system, including taking payments and issuing receipts in line with financial procedures
  • Balance and bank daily income in accordance with financial requirements
  • Manage bookings using our facility systems and assist colleagues with scheduling needs
  • Handle customer enquiries in person and over the phone, ensuring a welcoming and helpful experience
  • Promote products and services across our sites and support marketing displays and materials
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures while carrying out daily responsibilities
  • Support the Duty Manager with additional related tasks as needed

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Strong customer care and communication skills in person and by phone
  • Confidence using computer systems
  • The ability to stay calm and effective in busy or high‑pressure situations
  • Experience working in a leisure or high‑footfall environment (desirable)
  • Experience supporting customers of all ages (desirable)

Vetting and checks:
As well as checking eligibility to work in the UK, you will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
