Serco Maritime Services have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Support Administrator to join the team based at HMNB Portsmouth.  

 

In this crucial role, you will provide administrative support to the Maritime Services capability specifically based with the central support office. Reporting to the Engagement and Social Value Manager, you will support various stakeholders in the Maritime Services Senior Management Team, playing a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

 

We’re looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who thrives both in a team and working independently. The ideal candidate is eager to grow through self-development and take on a dynamic role supporting daily business operations.


Main Accountabilities:  

 

  • Support the Engagement and Social Value Manager with tasks as required including production of communications e.g. newsletters, posters and co-ordinating external events
  • Co-Ordination of Senior Management team meetings and events. Monitoring room availability and welcoming visitors.
  • Support various meetings which could include compiling meeting packs and agenda, taking and distribution of minutes (internal and external).
  • Arranging security passes for visitors, escorting, co-ordination of local Clearances
  • Focal point for office infrastructure including reporting building defects, fire log, printer servicing, postage and maintaining general office supplies.
  • Maintaining centralised contract information including telephone lists, templates, reporting and general information to the required brand and values.
  • Provides general administration support including production of MS Office documents and presentations to the business.
  • Other business support duties that are within capabilities as may be required by management from time to time. 

 

What you’ll need to do the job: 
 

  • Excellent secretarial and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing working environment and role
  • Administrative experience working in an office environment
  • Proficient in all aspects MS Office
  • Experience at being front of house and point of contact
  • Currently hold or able to obtain SC Clearance
  • Demonstrable strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively both independently and in a team
  • Full Driving License
