Introduction
Serco is a trusted leader in Space Services, with a proud history spanning over 55 years and a track record of supporting more than 50 space missions for world-renowned agencies like ESA and NASA. Our expertise covers the entire space lifecycle—from satellite testing and launch services to spacecraft operations, space surveillance, and data management—making us a key partner in advancing national strategies and driving innovation in the New Space era.
High above Earth, Europe’s space systems work silently in the background, supporting navigation, safety, and security across the continent. At the heart of this effort is EUSPA, the European Union Agency for the Space Programme. EUSPA ensures that EU space services, such as Galileo and EGNOS, are reliable, secure, and deliver real value to citizens, businesses, and public authorities. By bridging space technology and everyday life, EUSPA plays a key role in making Europe more connected, resilient, and future-ready.
On behalf of our client EUSPA we are looking for a Remote Sensing Support Engineer to support the activities on our client’s side in Prague, Czech Republic. The specialist will work in a team of multi lingual experts. In order to answer to our current customers, we are looking for a candidate fluent in English.
The Community You Will Join
You will work in an international, diverse team, surrounded by top-tier scientists, engineers, and technical experts who inspire and challenge you every day. You’ll have ongoing opportunities to grow through specialized training and professional development tailored to the space sector, all while being part of a company that genuinely values work-life balance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. As you contribute to innovative projects and mission-critical systems, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies and collaborate closely with major space agencies, becoming part of something truly extraordinary.
The Difference You Will Make
You will contribute directly to some of Europe’s most exciting space programmes, from Earth observation and climate monitoring to satellite navigation and space safety. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring mission success, enabling better decision-making on Earth and driving innovation in orbit. Whether you’re helping managing spacecraft operations, analysing mission data, or supporting software and systems development, your expertise will help move Europe’s space ambitions forward.
Your Mission
You will support EUSPA at every stage of the journey, from understanding how space-enabled markets evolve to helping them grow. You will bring together market intelligence, technical insight, and business analysis to inform publications and guide decision-making, while examining upstream and downstream value chains across multiple market segments. You will help turn ideas into reality through feasibility studies, test campaigns, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects carried out directly with end users in real operational environments. At the same time, you will contribute to the implementation of market uptake roadmaps, engage stakeholders through consultations and key account management, and support co-marketing activities across the value chain. Your work will extend to organizing industry meetings, interviews, events, and webinars, as well as defining and monitoring KPIs to track progress, risks, and results, feeding these insights into internal reporting. All of this will support the broader implementation of European Commission strategies, policies, and legislation shaping the future of EU space.
What You Bring to the Mission
You will bring a strong academic background in physics, remote sensing, or a related discipline, combined with in-depth expertise in satellite Earth observation, including optical and SAR technologies. You will be comfortable transforming complex EO data into meaningful insights through image analysis, GIS applications, and programming, and you will have hands-on experience using modern technologies such as cloud computing, big data platforms, and AI-driven approaches. You will also be able to communicate technical concepts clearly, drawing on experience in teaching, training, or knowledge sharing. In your role, you will integrate data from multiple sources, manage scientific and applied projects from concept to delivery, and produce clear, well-structured documentation. You will be fluent in data science tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, Matlab, or C++, and you will be able to manage multiple tasks in parallel while setting clear priorities. You will thrive in collaborative environments, take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems, and communicate confidently and fluently in English, both written and spoken.
