Make an impact at Serco
Reporting to the Site Marine Manager, you will be responsible for providing professional seamanship and marine engineering outputs to support the safe operation and maintenance of various sized vessels and equipment. You will operate all machinery and equipment on board, perform routine maintenance, vessel husbandry and participate in all drills. Safety and compliance with all relevant legislation, policy and procedures will be your priority in this role.

- Master <24m near coastal
- Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 near coastal
- Proven experience in maritime service organisations as a Master / Engineer on vessels of a similar size
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current drivers’ licence
- Knowledge of Navy operating practices - ideal
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of Defence Security Clearance – Baseline
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure.
The following you either hold or be able to obtain:
- Statement of Attainment – Safe Cargo Operations on Oil and Chemical Tankers
- Tanker Familiarisation
- Statement of Attainment – Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
- High Risk licences Dogging, Crane, working within a confined space
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) where required by the business.
This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a police check as an essential selection component for this role.
