At Serco, we are proud to deliver critical public services every day - from training future military leaders to managing aviation operations and supporting fire and rescue capabilities. Behind this essential work is a dedicated marketing team working hard to tell our story, showcase our impact, and drive meaningful business growth.
We're now looking for a Senior Marketing Manager with proven B2B/B2G experience to join our team and help elevate our Defence propositions through high-impact marketing strategies and campaigns. If you're a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves, own campaigns end-to-end, and deliver measurable results – we want to hear from you.
About the role:
This is a high-impact, visible role. You'll lead and deliver integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns that support our Defence business growth goals. You’ll be responsible for messaging, brand development, lead generation, and strategic campaign management.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Serco UK & Europe to deliver campaigns that resonate with government audiences and prospective clients.
As part of this you’ll:
- Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies across the Defence business unit as well as Fire, Aviation (including IFTC), and Defence Training to drive awareness and growth.
- Lead the creation, refresh, and embedding of brand identities, including overseeing website development with agency partners.
- Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns to launch new services and propositions into target markets.
- Produce high-quality collateral such as case studies, videos, blogs, and thought leadership to support campaigns and bids.
- Create clear, compelling messaging frameworks and value propositions aligned to audience needs.
- Manage budgets and external agency relationships effectively to maximise ROI.
- Lead or support the planning and delivery of events and exhibitions.
- Maintain and update marketing content across websites and digital channels.
- Manage a Marketing Executive
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of team capability.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Extensive experience in B2B or B2G marketing, preferably within Defence or other government-facing sectors.
- Proven track record in campaign management, brand strategy, and lead generation in complex, matrixed organisations.
- Strong understanding of the MOD, bidding environments, and government procurement.
- Confident in using digital tools and platforms (email automation, paid & organic social, SEO/PPC, CMS).
- Exceptional communication skills – you know how to craft compelling messaging and produce high-quality marketing outputs.
- Experience with budget management, agency oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Energetic, proactive, curious, and collaborative – someone who thrives on momentum and making an impact.
