22.5 hours per week

Salary – £24,465.00 (pro rata) plus Serco benefits

  • The Post holder in an integral part of the Patient dining team, ensuring that food orders are Picked correctly, and all side orders are in stock and date coded as per company policy.
  • The Picker packer must work to strict time frames to ensure both meals services are not delayed and that their picking or products is 100% actuate so no delays caused to the Ward Hosts.
  • They must adopt a clean as they go policy and ensure set up and closed operations are followed.
  • The Post holder must be flexible with their schedule as a 7-day operation,

Main Accountabilities:

  • To ensure their work place is clean and all products are within their shelf life
  • To maintain food safety and hygiene standards in your work area and ensure that you apply food safety procedures applicable to your work area
  • To clean prescribed area as per the cleaning schedules
  • To maintain food safety and hygiene standards in your work area and apply the food safety procedures applicable in work area.
  • To pick the Ward orders accurately and within the time frame and not hold up the Ward Host service.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety, Quality and Serco and Trust policies and procedures and all documentation and work records are completed accurately.
  • To respond to maintenance issues promptly and report to a supervisor any repairs required
  • To report any accident as soon as possible to your supervisor or manager
  • To account for the use of materials and return equipment in a clean and safe condition to its proper place
  • To fully cooperate with other staff and actively participate as part of the team to ensure efficient running of the department
  • Undertake other ad hoc duties as prescribed by manager and within scope of skill and capability.

  • Working within a refrigerated environment
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Lifting stocks and supplies
  • Pushing and pulling trolleys
  • Able to work to agreed standards and follow work instructions
