Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, full time, Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm

As a CAD Technician in our Estates Management team, you’ll support the control and management of key estate documentation while producing and modifying CAD drawings that help maintain and develop vital infrastructure.

Your work will play a meaningful role in ensuring the Defence Academy operates efficiently and safely. By maintaining accurate technical records and contributing to well-managed assets, you’ll help create an environment where critical training for UK Armed Forces and international personnel can thrive.

What you’ll do as a CAD Technician
You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Produce and modify 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD to support site assets
  • Maintain and manage the technical library and drawing register
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all drawings and specifications
  • Support document control processes, including CAFM system updates and records management
  • Coordinate and check design information from internal teams and external partners
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardisation across the estate

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience using AutoCAD in a similar environment
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • HND in Architectural Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Background in document control, estates, or facilities management

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
