Your work ensures accuracy, trust and resilience across a critical defence environment.

In this role, you’ll help create a future where essential equipment, clothing, ammunition and assets are always accounted for, maintained to the highest standards, and ready when needed. The work you do will have a meaningful impact on colleagues, military learners and the wider defence community.

What you’ll do as a Senior Stores Supervisor
You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Lead preparations for the Annual Logistic Support Assurance and Inspection.
  • Deliver service requirements for Technical Stores, Military Clothing Stores, Ammunition Account and Goods In functions in line with Joint Service Publications.
  • Oversee the JSCSC Fitness Suite and supervise Serco colleagues in the DACI Gymnasium.
  • Coordinate quarterly and monthly management checks of stores accounts and scrutinise findings.
  • Act as Unit Application Administrator (UAA) for the Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI).
  • Lead stocktaking checks of MOD assets across Account and Sub‑Account holders.
  • Produce, update and maintain spreadsheets, databases and departmental procedures.

  • Support recruitment, development and ongoing engagement of your team.
  • Provide cover for the Ammunition Accountant during absence or leave.

Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Strong communication skills, using spoken, written and behavioural communication effectively at all levels.
  • The ability to work independently and manage conflicting demands calmly and confidently.
  • Proven organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working under pressure or to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to lead meetings and coordinate work.
  • Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and MA training. Must be willing to complete the UAA course.
  • Unit Ammunition Management System (UAMs) training, or willingness to attend training.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
