Salary - £25,466.64 per annum
Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Resettlement and Families Administrator to join us at HMP Thameside, London, Category B prison. The job holder will be responsible for supporting prisoners in maintaining ties with their families and significant others, through bespoke visits and events, as well as one-to-one intervention work with prisoners. The successful post holder will work as part of a team, reporting to the Resettlement and Families Manager.
As part of this you’ll:
- Build trust with prisoners to deliver one-to-one support, activities and interventions to strengthen family and significant other ties and positive relationship skills
- Design and deliver group and individual sessions for prisoners and their families
- Work in partnership with other agencies within the prison and in the community to support the prisoners’ journey in custody and through the gate
- Promote the importance of maintaining family and significant other relationships for prisoners and how this contributes the wider aims of reducing reoffending
- Be a point of contact for advice and support for those who are care experienced, and promote engagement with their local authorities and progression through their pathway plans
- Act on any safeguarding or public protection concerns, including making safeguarding referrals and enquiries to local authorities and liaising with the Public Protection and Security departments within the prison
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure through the gate and resettlement pathways are available for prisoners and their families upon release, making referrals as necessary.
- Support with Resettlement events and supporting the Resettlement and Families manager with administrative tasks.
What you’ll need to do the role
This role is perfect for someone who is driven, creative and passionate about helping people. The role will involve working both as part of a team and on your own, and it is vital that you can communicate with a diverse range of people of all ages. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has proven experience in resettlement or children’s social care. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of safeguarding and public protection, and it would also be beneficial to have a good grasp of IT.
