We are looking for an Administrator to join us at HMP Dovegate - a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire where we care for up to 1160 male adult prisoners over the age of 21 serving a range of sentences including trial, remand, those awaiting sentence and convicted men serving long and short-term sentences.  This is a critical support role within a high-paced and sensitive environment where accuracy, communication, and a commitment to public service are paramount. You will be part of a dynamic team, supporting a range of OMU functions including sentence calculations, public protection processes, risk assessment coordination, and communication with internal and external agencies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure files are prioritised correctly when received 
  • Complete sentence calculations on all newly sentence offenders within a timely manner
  • Communicate offender release dates to the offender 
  • Maintain back record requests from other establishments ensuring these are sent in a timely manner 
  • Ensure that all prisoner records are compiled correctly with all the relevant information, attention to detail is required 
  • Complete the discharge paperwork for prisoners liaising with external agencies. 

 

What You’ll Need

 

Essential:

 

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above).
  • Strong computer literacy, including Outlook and Excel.
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within criminal justice, legal, or public sector environments.
  • Knowledge of offender management/justice.
