As a Deputy FM Manager in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll help create safe, well‑run environments where colleagues and the people in our care can thrive. Your work will directly support the smooth operation of essential services while contributing to a positive impact on communities.
You’ll play a vital role in keeping our sites compliant, efficient, and future‑focused — ensuring maintenance activity is prioritised, organised, and delivered to the highest standard. By supporting colleagues, contractors, and operational teams, you’ll help create solutions that make a real difference every day.
What you’ll do as a Deputy FM Manager
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Organise and allocate daily maintenance tasks, ensuring activity aligns with safety, compliance, and contractual priorities.
- Track, monitor, and manage work progress, productivity, and quality across all trades.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, using the CAFM system to programme work in line with SFG20 requirements.
- Support safe working practices through risk assessment, equipment checks, and adherence to specifications.
- Lead, motivate, and support a diverse team of skilled and semi‑skilled colleagues in line with our core values of Trust, Care, Pride and Innovation.
- Oversee contractors, ensuring they follow risk assessments and method statements and maintain high standards of work.
- Act as an Approved Person where qualified (e.g., HV/LV electrical, pressure systems, confined spaces, work at height, hot works).
- Deputise to the Contract Manager in his absence
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…
- GCSEs including Maths and English.
- A recognised qualification as an Approved Electrician (JIB, 17th Edition), or HVAC qualifications such as COCN1, ICPN1, TCP1, CDGA1, CIGA1, or BMP1. Or Fire & Security qualification.
- Experience managing HVAC systems, ideally with Trend or Honeywell BMS.
- A qualification in the Control of Legionella.
- Experience leading teams and managing workflow, productivity, and quality across a busy maintenance operation.
- Strong technical knowledge across HVAC and electrical systems, including fault finding and diagnostics.
Vetting and checks
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
