As a Deputy Contract Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the operational management of the DMSS contract. You’ll ensure high-quality customer services are delivered in line with contractual obligations while exceeding expectations. Working closely with the Contract Manager, you’ll focus on smooth operational execution, strong customer engagement, compliance, and workforce coordination — positioning the contract for sustained success.

 

As a Deputy Contract Manager in the Defence Leadership Group, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Managing day-to-day service delivery to meet profit, compliance, and quality targets

• Building and maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships

• Coordinating and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives

• Overseeing contract administration, reporting, and compliance activities

• Identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies

• Driving innovation, process improvements, and cost optimisation opportunities

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

• Understanding of maritime operations and environments

• Experience in contract management or Maritime or Defence industry roles

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of contract law, governance, finance, and risk analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems

• The ability to achieve and maintain a defence security clearance of baseline or higher
