Make an impact at Serco

As an Education Facilitator in the Rehabilitation and Reintegration team at Wooroloo, you’ll play a vital role in delivering training and assessment that supports prisoner rehabilitation. You’ll create positive learning environments, help students develop literacy and numeracy skills, and design programs that foster confidence and future employability. This role is hands-on, people-focused, and gives you the opportunity to directly impact individual lives and the wider community.

As an Education Facilitator in our team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Facilitating accredited literacy and numeracy learning in a culturally sensitive way

  • Delivering engaging and motivational education sessions aligned with the prison’s core day

  • Designing, planning, and evaluating education programs for prisoners

  • Supporting innovative initiatives such as the prison music program

  • Maintaining student resources and ensuring compliance with RTO standards

  • Actively contributing to continuous improvement and team collaboration

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience teaching literacy and numeracy in diverse learning environments

  • A tertiary teaching qualification and willingness to meet RTO standards (within six months if not already met)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage varied stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student data systems

  • A collaborative approach, openness to change, and focus on achieving professional goals

  • A current National Police Check (less than one year old) and ability to gain security clearance
