About Laverton Clinic

Laverton Clinic is located on RAAF Base Williams in the suburb of Laverton (approx. 23km west of Melbourne CBD).  This Airforce base has specialty schools (Language & Defence international training centre).  It is also headquarters for Air Force Training Group.  Being a relatively small clinic, services include primary medical, nursing, pharmaceutical and dental.  The standard operating hours are generally 0730-1600 Monday – Thursday, and a half day Friday 07:30 – 13:00.

This is a part-time role offering 18.75 hours per week, with a rotating roster of two shifts one week and three shifts the next across Mon – Tues - Wed.

What you’ll do 

• Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members 
• Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
• Undertaking assessments, interventions, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount  

What you bring 

• Unrestricted AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist 
• Minimum two years’ Post Graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting  

• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) 
• Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
