About Simpson Health Centre  

Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD).  Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre.  The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7.  The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services.  Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). This is a casual opportunity with the ability to work across ADF bases in both metropolitan and regional Victoria. 

What you’ll do  

• Coordinate equipment hire and support stocktake activities using inventory management systems 

• Picking, packing, issuing, and dispatching medical, dental, and general supplies 

• Assist with maintenance of medical and dental equipment  

• Replenish first aid kits under pharmacist supervision 

• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery   

• Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards 

What you bring  

• Minimum 2 years full-time experience as a Store-person (or part-time equivalent). 

• Current forklift licence (desirable). 

• Experience within a warehouse or stores environment (desirable). 

• The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour 

• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients.
